CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
“The Leadership Training Programme & Network for Young Physicians”
We are very pleased to inform you that following the last session of the IAMP “Young Physicians Leadership Program” held during the World Health Summit (WHS) in Berlin, Germany in October 2012, the IAMP is seeking candidates to participate in a regional programme to be held on 8 April 2013 during the WHS regional meeting in Singapore (8 – 10 April 2013).
Articulated in two parts, a specific leadership development programme followed by participation as special guests at the regional WHS , the successful candidates will be exposed to an outstanding scientific and policy program attended by a global group of medical and scientific professionals. The program will take into account the lessons-learnt from the previous YPL sessions in Berlin in 2011 and 2012.
We are seeking to identify a maximum of 10 outstanding young physician leaders, nominated by IAMP member academies in Asia and by member institutions of the “M8 Alliance” , currently in the process of establishing and developing support for their careers. The program seeks a diverse group from multiple specialties and career interests, including but not exclusive to research, diversity of geographic, location, economic status of the representative countries. The opportunities for sharing experiences across this international lens are unprecedented.
The candidates must show great promise for leadership in their chosen careers. They should be enthusiastic, with outstanding communication skills and the ability, desire and personality to represent the medical profession well when interacting with the outstanding professionals from multiple sectors who will be attending the Summit. We especially encourage the nomination of women.
IAMP member academies and members of the “M8 Alliance” are invited to nominate a maximum of 2 eligible physicians under 40 years of age with demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in clinical medicine, medical education, public health or health policy and who show significant promise for leadership in their fields in the future.

A Partnership Committee will review all applications and select the candidates who best fit the criteria outlined above. Successful candidates will be contacted soon thereafter and informed of further details, precise dates and procedures.
Successful candidates will receive full scholarships covering the costs of local accommodation, participation in the YPL programme and attendance of the World Health Summit.
IAMP is working with local sponsors to seek resources to assure partial travel support for participants from developing countries.
