BAS-USDA Workshop on Agricultural and Life Sciences
Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) has organized a 3-day Annual Progress Review Workshop in the Seminar Room of the Academy, National Museum of Science & Technology Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka.
Under an agreement between the Govt. of Bangladesh and the United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA), the Academy has been funding 38 projects in Agricultural and Life Sciences with an objective to enhance Food Security and alleviate Poverty. The Universities, Research and Development Organizations and Non-Government Organizations are mainly recipients of USDA fund against these projects. The main purposes of the workshop is to review progress of the activities in respect of each of the objectives of the projects. The Principal Investigators, Monitors of the Projects, Heads of fund recipient organizations, Executives of other similar programs and subject matter specialists have been invited to attend the workshop. National Emeritus Scientists Dr. Kazi M Badruddoza, Fellow, BAS has kindly consented to inaugurate the workshop as the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. M Shamsher Ali, President, BAS will Chair and Prof. Dr. Naiyyum Choudhury, Secretary, BAS will introduce the theme of the workshop and moderate the workshop.
