Dr Md Nuruzzaman Khan is a biostatistician, epidemiologist, and public health researcher with expertise in clinical epidemiology, medical statistics, and mixed-methods research. He completed his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics at the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2021. He is currently a McKenzie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and an Associate Professor of Population Science at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh.
His research focuses on maternal, sexual and reproductive, and child health; health inequalities; gender-based violence; and the health of forcibly displaced and refugee populations. He has published extensively in leading international journals, including The Lancet, Nature, The BMJ, and the Bulletin of the World Health Organization, and has been included in the Stanford University and Elsevier global database of the world's most-cited scientists.
Dr Khan has also received research funding from national and international organisations, including UNICEF and UNFPA, and has substantial experience in postgraduate research supervision and mentorship. He contributes to scientific publishing through editorial roles with international journals, including BMC Public Health, PLOS ONE, and PLOS Global Public Health.
