Dr. Saleh Hasan Naqib was born in Rajshahi, on the 03 August 1970.
He successfully completed Secondary education in 1987 from Rajshahi University School, Rajshahi Board and Higher Secondary education in 1989 from Rajshahi College, Rajshahi Board. He completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in physics from Rajshahi University, securing first class first position in both the examinations. He completed his Ph.D. on cuprate superconductivity from University of Cambridge (UK) as a Commonwealth Scholar.
Professor Naqib has been serving as Professor, Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi.
He was invited ICTP postgraduate scholarship for one year for the advanced course in theoretical Physics at the AS-ICTP, Italy from September 1997; Research assistantship in Physics at SIUC, USA (from January 1998); The Commonwealth Scholarship for Ph.D. in Physics at University of Cambridge, UK (October 1998 – February 2002); Scholarships from Physics Department, Cambridge Philosophical Society, and Darwin College, University of Cambridge, Lundgren Research Grant, for the period of March 2002 – March 2003; Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) TWAS Gold Medal as the Junior Scientist of the Year 2007 (Physical Sciences Category); Regular Associate membership from the AS-ICTP, Italy, for the period Jan 2009 –Dec 2015; Razzaq-Shamsun Physics Research Award for the best Physics paper published from Bangladesh in the year 2006 (awarded in 2011); S N Nahar Physics Research Award as the best researcher at Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, for the year 2014; S N Nahar Physics Teacher of the Year Award as the best teacher selected by the students of Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, for the year 2015; S N Nahar Physics Research Award as the best researcher at Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, for the year 2016; S N Nahar Physics Teacher of the Year Award as the best teacher selected by the students of Department of Physics, University of Rajshahi, for the year 2017; Dean’s Award 2018 in research from the Faculty of Science, University of Rajshahi, as the best researcher in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Category; Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) Gold Medal as the Senior Scientist for the Year 2016 (Physical Sciences Category).
He published 100 publications in peer reviewed SCOPUS indexed journals: 12 peer reviewed international conference proceedings; 02 invited book chapters; Over 1700 citations.
