This year, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), an international organization dedicated to advancing science and research in the developing world, has elected a total of 87 scientists from different countries as Fellows for 2027. Professor Dr. Kamrun Nahar received the TWAS–Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi Award in recognition of her contributions to environmental and agricultural science research. Her election as a TWAS Fellow, alongside receiving this prestigious award, represents dual recognition of her achievements by the international academy.

Furthermore, Dr. Firdausi Qadri, an eminent scientist and one of the distinguished Fellows of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, has been elected as the South-East Asia Representative on the TWAS Executive Board for the next three years.

The President of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, Professor Dr. Zahurul Karim, and the Secretary, Professor Dr. Yearul Kabir, expressed their delight at these achievements and extended their heartfelt congratulations to the above-mentioned scientists on their outstanding success.
